The Fault In Our Stars (2014)

The most anticipated movies of 2014 is finally here. The Fault In Our Stars everybody

The Fault In Our Stars is another book to movie adaptation with the same name written by John Green. He's not only an author of numerous best sellers book like The Fault In Our Stars and Looking For Alaska which also will turn into a movie directed by Sarah Polley and starred by Nat Wolff (portraying as Isaac in TFIOS) but John Green is also a famous YouTuber with his brother Hank Green on vlogbrothers channel.

The Fault In Our Stars is about a young woman Hazel Grace Lancaster (Shailene Woodley) who diagnosed with thyroid cancer but she managed to live with consumed a drug called Phalanxifor and also everyday she has to put nasal cannula and carry the oxygen tank wherever she goes. Then she met Augustus Waters (Ansel Elgort) or Gus, a cancer survivor at a support group and they kind of hit it off. Hazel has this obsession with a novel, An Imperial Affliction by Peter Van Houten. The obsession happened because she can related to the story and unfortunately that Hazel feels not satisfied with the ending and she tries to contact Mr. Van Houten whatsoever to get answer. Without telling Hazel, Gus who's also have this curiosity towards the ending after being introduced to the novel by Hazel finally wrote an e-mail to Mr. Van Houten and he replied it. After sending some e-mails they both go to Amsterdam where he lives now to get some answer.

Hazel is a brave young woman and she's just get through the day with her oxygen tank that she's carry around and the fact that she's not like other people who can go anywhere where they want, have a boyfriend then drink and else but no I think she's just like other normal people. Actually she's done more than other people can do. Then being with Gus makes them much stronger together, stand by each other, make each other laugh it makes them both happy and that's all it. Woodley and Elgort bring us something real to the screen and with they're performance absolutely melts my heart and bring tears, not only me but anyone else who's watching. This is not some cliche love story where the guy gets the girl then that's it. But it's a story that make us realize how we should be grateful for the life that we have. One thing that I also love is the connection between Hazel and her parents, they both have a huge involvement in Hazel's life, how their conversation going and at some point towards the ending there's this touching dialogue between Hazel and her parents about dying. The connection is there, the relationship is real!

Again, I'm reading this book and as someone who love this book I think this movie is 100% well made. Josh Boone is a perfect director for The Fault In Our Stars and I can tell by his previous work and first film debut Stuck In Love which is a really lovely. Everything in TFIOS is pretty much clear and well consumed by people that haven't read the book yet and this movie really try to bring us some emotion and to feel what the characters feel and to be in it.

I have to say the soundtrack is amazing. Singer like Ed Sheeran, Birdy, Charli XCX, Kodaline and many more are contributed as film's soundtrack. It fits perfectly with the film's flow and it really getting the feels of each scene. With amazing story then incredible soundtrack make a perfect movie that people can enjoy and people can relate to.

The Fault In Our Stars is amazing film an I recommend you to watch it, okay?
